Eventhough Karina grew up in Zurich she never turned her back on her second home in Medellín, and so it came that these two cultures became constant companions in her life.
She discovered her enthusiasm for Latin American craftsmanship in Mexico as part of her exchange year. During this stay in 2017 Karina found the people, colors and unusual designs so fascinating that she decided to found MOCHIL that very same year.
Business was so good that Marina came on board three years later. The two women have already gone to school together and became very close friends. During Karina's year abroad she came to visit and as luck would have it, Marina fell in love. Since then she has been travelling back and forth between Switzerland and Mexico. Thanks to her wealth of experience, Marina became the focal point of MOCHIL on site.
Karina and Marina are deeply enthusiastic about the cheerful nature of Latin America. With MOCHIL, the two power women from Zurich have found a way to bring the joie de vivre and the carefreeness of this culture closer to us. This vitality comes to the fore through the colors, patterns and detail-oriented handcraft of their products.
